In a more than 22-year career at WGN Radio and WGN-TV in Chicago, Andrea Darlas has won a multitude of awards from The Associated Press and the Illinois Broadcasters’ Association for anchoring, reporting, breaking news coverage and investigative series reports. 

Andrea has five IBA Silver Dome Awards for “Best Newscast” and two prestigious Peter Lisagor Awards – one for TV and one for radio reporting. She was inducted into the WGN Radio Walk of Fame in 2019. Throughout her career, Andrea has been an enthusiastic and active supporter of Illini Media students, and she is now senior director of constituent engagement for the University of Illinois.
